Who We Are

Afghan Hound Rescue of California is a volunteer group who diligently works to find new homes for displaced Afghan Hounds. In addition to rescuing dogs from the shelter system, we also offer placement assistance to owners, who through no fault of their own are unable to care for their beloved pet.

What We Do

• Provide a safe environment for Afghan Hounds in need.
• Rehabilitate & re-home stray and abandoned Afghan Hounds
• AHROC offers placement assistance to owners who are no longer able to care for their beloved companion
• Our volunteers strive to educate the public about the nature and behavior of the Afghan Hound and the duties inherent in being a responsible pet owner

Afghan Hound Rescue of California is always in need of volunteers.  The Afghan Hound is a popular breed and unnecessary breeding continues to take place by those other than professional breeders who breed for the healthy advancement and betterment of the breed.

If you can help, give but one hour of your time here and there, you can and will make a positive difference in the life of a homeless Afghan Hound.  Please join us and become a volunteer for the rescue side of the Afghan Hound community.
